I-Media Company was established
in 2008, out of the deep seated ambitions and ardent commitment
of a young Gambian media talent to serving the country’s communications
industry with an all encompassing solution. When Fatou
Camara resigned her job as Protocol Assistant and Military
Liaison at the U.S. Embassy in Banjul, she had already laid the
ground for the emergence of what is fast becoming the Gambia’s
first ever media empire.
I-Media was founded in the context of the Gambia's national
development needs and aspirations. The country, under the
current leadership, has indeed witnessed unprecedented
achievements in all the sectors, including information and
communications. But from the results of sustained strategic
and professional assessment, there exists an ostensible
vacuum in the private sector where a limited number of
operatives handle media and PR services to compliment
overall government efforts in the area. And given the
critical if not invincible portfolio of media and
communications in the current global order, investing in it
is imperative for all social visionaries.
